What are the different coloured beacons?
There is a variety of different coloured beacons the main ones are Amber, Blue, Red
What are the different coloured beacons used for?
Amber is the most commonly used beacon and are used on various vehicles such as road maintenance, Agricultural & wide load or long vehicles but all for the same reason to make others aware of potential hazards/danger.
Blue beacons/ lightbars are used on emergency services vehicle ie police, fire, ambulance vehicles.
Red beacons are generally used on static vehicles/ machinery as a marker to indicate the height of the vehicle or machine such as a large crane
What is the best beacon?
There really isn't a straight winner as it depends on what application you are wanting your beacon for, there are plenty to choose from. From the conventional rotating halogen, xenon or the latest full LED beacons as well as the available mounting options such a single point, 3 bolt, magnetic and pole mount, there is certainly something for everyone.
